Why did WorkingSheepDogs.co.uk come about?
WorkingSheepDogs.co.uk came about because of the 2 things. Firstly, a frustration that on the eve of entering the National trial we were too unorganised to have kept a record of our results and there was no one place where they were stored. It meant hours of scrolling through Facebook to confirm our entries would be correct. Secondly, there was a growing concern that national publications were looking to stop including details of the trials. On speaking to them it was because they had great difficulty in getting the information in a cost effective way. That led us to develop WorkingSheepDogs.co.uk The idea being we would give people a single place to record trials and importantly trial results. This information will then be published in the Farmers Guardian. This allows those who are not able to access the internet as readily as others to keep up to date with when and where trials are on and the results.
It will also help those who do not keep a record of their successes to easily check them when they are entering their National Trial.
What does WorkingSheepDogs.co.uk do?
Hosting a trial
WorkingSheepDogs.co.uk allows those hosting trials to input the information, including a pin drop of the trial field or the specific WHAT 3 WORDS to give exact locations. Other information like entry requirements etc.. can also be included in the posting.
The information will then be emailed to all registered users who have requested to receive updates in that country (England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales). We will also inform the ISDS of the trial so they can add to their trials diary.
Once the trial is complete the host can input the results and again this will be shared with those registered to receive the results. There is no more trawling of social media waiting for the results. As soon as they are posted everyone is informed.
If you want a write up to appear in the Farmers Guardian you can also add a writeup and it may be included. Moving forward we will allow you to upload photos to share the memories.
Interested in attending trials or finding results?
Simple registration allows you to receive updates on trials when they are added to the diary and results as soon as they are posted. If you register with your ISDS number and inform the trial host of your Dogs ISDS number then future updates will allow you to search for all your results in a few seconds.
